The parent can watch CCTV recordings for their child’s safety. The app also provides the contact details of the staff or caretakers in charge of the daycare for direct interactions.
After designing the initial mockups, usability testing was conducted with a few users to gather feedback.
Key insights from the testing phase highlighted the need for an attendance tracking feature and a more flexible enrollment process to accommodate varying schedules. Based on this feedback, these improvements were incorporated into the final design to enhance the overall user experience.
Design takeways
As the app targets a niche audience, gathering insights for its features was challenging. I focused on understanding individual user problems through interviews and identifying gaps in the existing enrollment process. This approach helped shape the app’s direction; beyond just helping parents find daycare, it also enables them to track their child's safety.
With two primary user groups, parents and caregivers, the app's future scope includes developing a platform where caregivers can create accounts to offer their services.
